The story behind the name
A name held close.
A space to be heard.
I named this practice after my grandmother, Willa Mae Ashley, who passed away in 2024. She was a giving, compassionate person whose faith guided the way she lived. She played a major role in my life.
How it began
Care inspired by being cared for.
My grandmother showed me what it means to help others and to be selfless. Her example continues to shape how I think about caring for people and being there for them.
My own experience with therapy had a profound impact on my life. I know what it can mean to have someone listen, support, and guide you through difficult moments. That experience inspired me to pursue this work and to offer that same compassion to others.
I created Willa Mae Wellness as a place where your voice is valued and your story is respected. Through virtual psychotherapy in New Jersey, I want to offer care that feels warm, honest, and personal, with room for both reflection and practical steps forward.
